Health & Disability

This section of my website has mixed rôles & purposes. It’s a narrative informed by my personal lived experiences and is here in the hope that it can be a guide / help support / link to anyone, themselves (or in family friend groups), with particular issues that I cover there are two main areas of disability and health related conditions that I explore. These are stroke & male cancers (especially testicular cancer).

On disability I hope that my learnt experiences problem solving / investigating systems of support and sharing can be helpful to others. I am political & some of my biggest efforts in working with the disabled community & on disability issues come through my involvement with, and election to the executive committee of, Disability Labour. I make no apologies for this, I am a political animal & I do all that I can to champion and campaign for the improvement physically mentally & socially. But don’t be put off if you hold opposing political views to mine. Your disability and health-linked reach-out to me will see you an ally across any political divide and not expose or force on you political proselytizing of political persuasion or campaigning.

Here the resolution of your issues is the key first priority; I may be a dedicated Labour politico but I regularly share a pint and camaraderie with Liberals a Tory and a Welsh Nationalist; But I must be upfront about my politics I am a political campaigner (parts of this web site are expressly political!) for that which I believe and hold dear in my core-philosophical approach to life. But I respect that we don’t all think alike and I will never allow differences to get in the way of human-2-human engagement on matters affecting our common struggle to understand and improve our pathways to make opportunity and support for the disabled and health- service-user more straightforward.
